So friends, today we are going to talk about such a remarkable personality who with his passion turned the impossible into possible and proved how to make dreams come true with your passion. We are talking about Karoly Takas. He was born in Budapest in Hungary on 21st January 1910. He was a sergeant in the army of Hungary and he was a skilled pistol shooter. He dreamed of grabbing a gold medal for his country in the Olympics. In the National Games of Hungary in the year 1938 he won a gold medal and his success created a hope for the people of Hungary that he would bring first gold medal for Hungary in the Olympic Games of 1940. Destiny had some other plans for him and brought him harsh experiences. While practising in the army a hand grenade blasted in his right hand and he lost his right hand. Hopes of the people of Hungary to bring gold in Olympics shattered. But Karoly didn’t give up. He started practising with left hand and made it to participate in National Games of Hungary in 1939 to compete for pistol shooting. Everyone was of the opinion that he was there to train the participants, but later they came to know that he was there to participate indeed and it surprised them all. When he again won a gold medal in the National Games with left hand through a rigorous practice of one year only. Hopes got feathers again and dream of people of Hungary for gold medal in the Olympics of 1940 got resurrected. But again destiny had some other palms for Karoly. Olympic Games of 1940 got cancelled due to the Second World War. Karoly didn’t lose his hope. He followed his passion and prepared for the Olympics of 1944. Again the Olympic games of 1944 got cancelled due to the same World War. Karoly kept his hopes alive and continued to practise for Olympics of 1948. He was passionate and focused to his dream. Such commitment towards passion bore fruits of his success and he won gold medal for Hungary in the Olympics of 1948. He didn’t stop here and again in the Olympics of 1952 he won gold medal for Hungary. Hence, the story of Karoly inspires youth to remain passionate towards their dreams and ambitions.
