What is the importance of Hope in our life will be clear through the story being narrated now:
One fine day a man was going on a long drive along with his family. They all were very happy enjoying the weather outside and the atmosphere of merriments inside. All of a sudden a truck coming from the opposite direction collided against the car taking the toll of lives of all people in the car except the man on the driving seat. That was really a very ghastly accident. That man himself had multiple fractures. He was badly injured and was therefore admitted to a hospital where he underwent a major operation. He was just dejected to come to know that he had lost everything in his life including his whole loving family and his eyesight. He lost all his hopes in life. Once as he was sitting lamenting on his bed in the hospital cursing his life, another patient sharing the same room in the hospital came to him and tried to console the man with his sympathetic words. He told the man not to keep cursing his remaining life which was just a gift of God to him, but the man was paying no heed to the other patient and kept weeping bitterly for his own family members and eyes. He thought that everything was dark now without light. The patient assured him and said that nothing to worry about the light of the world; he himself would narrate everything while standing at the window of the room. He started narrating about each and everything outside on the road including the various activities and movements of the people and small school going children. He said that the world was very beautiful with so many gifts of God In this way he used to divert the man’s mind every day. One day as ill luck would have it, that patient died as he was counting his last few remaining days during the advanced stage of cancer. The man was very sad at this. One day the man underwent an operation and regained his lost vision somehow. The man looked around his bed in the room and saw no window in the room. He got amazed and asked the nurse attending on him whether it was the same room he had been in since the beginning. The nurse answered in affirmation and said that the cancer patient was just trying to soothe his time period he was cursing earlier. There had been no window at all. Moreover, he himself was blind. Now the man was stunned at what the nurse told to him and somehow could understand the meaning of life what that cancer patient was trying to expound to him. He was trying to resurrect the man’s dying hopes in life. Yes, this is the same hope one man inculcated into another man so that he might sustain well in this beautiful world. This Hope is the factor that helps us continue with this so called mundane world. Man now a days takes away this same hope from other people in this despondent world. We all ought to lead our life in such a way that other people learn something from our fervour of life and say spontaneously that they are inspired by us to live in this most beautiful world of ours.
